My Favorite Spot in Bandung.

Everybody starts the day by having a breakfast. Breakfast is very important for every people.  Breakfast is tended to be your energy supplier until the mid-day. A nutritious meal is likely to be the best breakfast. Not much but enough for your daily need.
Before Moving to Serayu Street

In weekend, I often to go this famous “Lontong Tahu” seller in Serayu Street near my place. It is named “Lontong Tahu Cihapit”. Cihapit name comes from the place where the seller first time sold his dish. Cihapit is one market in Bandung. It is located in center of city. But, due to complicated city system the seller moved it to Bengawan Street and later in Serayu Street (the street is next to Bengawan Street).  The last moving is due to other building construction in that area.

This stall doesn’t has the branch. It is one and only. This stall is opened on Monday to Sunday, but it is closed in Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Due to this short opening time, in weekdays I can’t catch it up. But, I can eat it in weekend or my holiday.

In Serayu Street
The stall is small, it is attached to a house but, I don’t know the owner of the house. Because after the stall is closed the house is empty and there is no life there.  There are benches in the room (next to the kitchen) and chair also umbrella in outdoor. It is always crowded in the morning, because many people like to eat it. In every table, there are bunch of chips that is made of flour flavored with fish or shrimp and also soy sauce for adding flavor to your meal.

One of the Dish
“Lontong Tahu” is very common in Bandung. But, in this stall is very famous than the other one. Peoples say that the nut spice is smooth and lighter than the other “Lontong Tahu”. But, I rarely eat the nut spice one because I don’t like it. I like the vegetable stock for my “Lontong Tahu”. This “Lontong Tahu” is also served with bean sprout. It is rich of spice and flavor. But, to be honest “Lontong Tahu” in Jakarta and Banten are more delicious than this one. So, for you Bandung’s people, sorry hehehehe.
That’s all from me for my favorite spot in Bandung.

Let’s meet an Indonesia Big Event, Asian African Conference Commemoration.

In 19th April to 24 April 2015 was held a big event in Indonesia. This event was about commemoration of Asian African Conference that was held in 1955. This celebration of 60th years Asian African Conference was held in two city, Jakarta and Bandung. In Bandung, there are lots of thing that held by government to celebrate this event. Such as Art Festival, Making a World's Record for playing an Angklung by 20,000 peoples, and many more.

On Thursday, 23rd April 2015, I visited Siliwangi arena with my classmates. We were becoming participant of the World Record for playing Angklung by 20,000 peoples. It was crowded place. Many peoples come to this area. The participants were from music group, students, and also civil employer that gathered in that place. We were also watched by Minister of Tourism, West Java Governor, Bandung Mayor, and also the delegation from Asian African country.

Every people got one Angklung that had to be played. That music instrument can be brought home. So, I am so excited to have this one. This Angklung has a label, the label are name of Indonesia Islands. At the first, I was really blind for playing this instrument. But, after the conductor of this event explained how to play this one, I could a little bit understand about it. The conductor only moved his hand with some code or special move that refers to the specific label. Every combination of move, it will make a great sound of a song.

We were having one song for the record, “We are the world”. But, before we played it, we were exercising by playing Indonesia songs such as, “Ibu Pertiwi”, “Halo-Halo Bandung”, etc. I was really enjoy it, because it was my first time to play Angklung. This is also my new great experience.

The arena condition in that day was very hot. Actually, I can’t stand about it. Because, I only used a cap, and wearing short shirt. So, my hand and also my face got a sun burn. It was hurt, but after taking a treatment, it relived my pain. My friend also got this uncomfortable condition, huh!.

Wanna see this event clearly? Check this video!

Beautiful Song from Great Indie Band.

Hey, do you know Mocca Band? If you don’t know I will tell you about it. Mocca is indie band that come from Bandung. It is cool right? We are in same city, but sadly the vocalist now lives in America. Mocca is one of my favorite band. Mocca’s song mainly in English language. But, it is easy listening and has unique sound.

One of the newest song of Mocca is Bandung. Bandung is the 2014 song from “Home” album. This song was launched in Bandung Birthday, 25 September 2014. This song actually was made in 2007 but it was published last year. This song not only tend to be campaign of “Friendly Bandung” but is also healing Arina’s homesickness of  Bandung.

As you know that Bandung is the name of the city. The city where we live now. So it is so great because there is another song about this lovely city beside “Halo-halo bandung” and “Bandung Selatan di Malam Hari”

This song has beautiful lyric. In the lyric you can see the characteristic of Bandung city. From its friendly whether to friendly people. Yes, it is Bandung.

Chek it out.

And here it is, the lyric of this song.

There’s a little city
Covered with hills and pleasant weather
Come on baby I’ll show you around

In my little town
Every corner tells you different stories
There’s so many treasures to be found

Welcome to flower city
My lovely city

Roses blooming pretty
People say that home is where the heart is
It’s a place with so much history

Friendly Bandung city
Holds the past of ancient glories
and a thrilling future mystery

Welcome to flower city
My lovely city
My friendly city
My beloved city

Even though it gets so overcrowded
When I’m sitting in my car that stuck for hours
But I love it anyway

Welcome to flower city
My lovely city
My friendly city
My beloved city

Inspirational Slogan

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." -Walt Disney

I am really inspired by this slogan. This slogan that I got from Disney’s animation movie, “Meet the Robinson” has very simple meaning but it saves in my mind. This slogan was said by the adult version of the main character in that movie. He is a scientist, so many times he get fail in experiment or creating something, but he always keep trying , because you have to see the next not keeping on same thing for long time. You have to move. You have to change something that doesn’t work.
It is very inspirational. As you know, that people who is success, is the one that keep trying and never feel so desperate for long time. People who is really hard to move to something will get a static situation. That situation actually is very not good. It won’t make you to be success people. It just makes you to be an ordinary or common people. Every people don’t want to be that kind of people, right?

I am student, for me this slogan becomes my kind of motivated thing that I keep reading it when I am feeling down. In school, everything doesn’t always run well. Maybe, it is fail or just doesn’t run as my plan or my target. But, I always think that you have to move forward. Forget that fail, and I must fix it, I have to be success people.

But sometimes, when you keep trying but it always doesn’t work. Why you don’t make an alternative plan that is easier than the old one. The plan that is quite similar from the old one. Sometime ambitious is not good, because it can become obsession. That thing is very not good for you and other people around you. If the obsession doesn’t work for long time but you just want it so bad, I think you can get some madness in your mind.

So from me, just “Keep Moving Forward” every time. Because you are precious. You can reach your success if you want it. If you just always keep looking back to the past. You won’t be able to be success people. Cheer up!

"Dewa Athena" the vibrant event in my school.

Hello guys, I am coming back to this blog for just posting my task.

Our principal's speech
Okay, brace yourself, our school biggest sport competition was began. It is “Dewa Athena”. This school annual event was opened officially on 21st February 2015. The opening day was filled with color run event. In this event every student ran around the Bali field (The route was Bali Street – Belitung Street – Sumatera Street – Aceh Street – Ambon Street – Banda Street – Belitung Street) and then back again to Bali field.  Actually this event was named Color run because after the running session was finished some people from “Dewa Athena” staff just pouring some color paint into our shirt made it colored, and then our class took a picture after it. I think this session was just so so, it was quite boring actually, but photo session with my class made my day.

Waiting for the opening
As I tell before, it is sport competition. So there will be some match after it. In this day, our class was having 3 matches which were girl football, girl dodgeball, and badminton for both gender. But, so sad I didn’t watch the game due to other things so I didn’t know clearly. But, my friends told me that our football and dodge ball games didn’t win. But, it was okay because at the last we won the badminton game, hooray!

Our class's photo
Some girl went to the match for supporting our class. They were becoming one day cheerleader for this games while the boy didn't attend that matches. I don’t know about where everybody was going. So it was quite sad actually for absence of boy in this match. But, some boys were becoming staff of the event, so they were so busy for maintaining the event. It was okay actually!

We lost for the first match, but we didn't so worry because these games have some rule that are quite different from other games.  After we loss, we aren't eliminated from this game. We just don’t get point while the winner team gets. So there are so many chance to win this game. For the information, this event will hold for about few months and it holds in after-school time and also so long competition. So prepare yourself for being the best. I think that’s all thank you :)

Meet Ismi, an extraordinary student.

Short Information

Name : Ismi Robiyatul Adawiyah
Age: 15 years old.
School : "SMAN 3 BANDUNG"
Class : "X IPA 2"

Let's start our conversation.

What is life in your definition?
Life is where we are in between the past and the future. Facing your life is same as you are trapped in the woods, in this situation we have to keep walking carefully and explore the wood that full of mystery. If we are luck, maybe we will find beautiful flower field, but if we in wrong way, we can fall into the darkest abyss. If we just sit and watch, we could have been eaten by wild or rot without knowing the outside. So, just let every little thing flows.

 What is your main supporter?

There is some point, we will be fed up by life or this is might be you lowest point of your life. There is time where we are faced with a choice.  Well, when I am in that point, I always remember my word to live, “You only live once”. It means for the first sentence, when I am down I remember that word and suddenly thinking if this situation is the stage that will create my character, kind of my maturing, and because we live once, it is normal to feel down BECAUSE YOU LIVE ONCE. And the second one, for the example when we are faced to 2 choices, someone told me for choosing a choice we must see the positive effect from the choice, if we choose A, whether every people getting positively influence by your choice or not. Is your choice making a big advantage for everyone? And then you choose B, are people getting an advantage or even nothing or in this case you are only enjoying the choice for yourself. For me, the “a” will be perfect. So, don’t afraid sacrifice yourself for other peoples because as I told before, “YOU ARE REALLY LIVE ONCE.” So, YOLO is my best motivator.

Do you join organization? If you do, what is it?

“PERWAKILAN KELAS 61 SMAN 3 BANDUNG"
“SUARA PELAJAR DEBAT 3”

Tell me everything about “PK” in your perspective.

Because it is opinion, so it is not too serious. PK, it feels like you have another family in school. Correction, not only in school but you have this family in everywhere you go. This family is really care, responsive, my best reminder, encourager, and many more. PK is organization that very honors kinship and loyalty. It is provable from the tagline “Loyalitasku untuk PK” or “My loyalty for PK”. I am happy for being the part of this organization, because in here we are not only working, working, and working but we have to be developing. So, it is useless if you don’t maximize your opportunity for developing. Organizing, especially in this organization really gives us lot of advantage for example managing your time, helping each other, professionalism, loyalty, critic, and knowing with lots of people, and many more.

And, as you know this organization works behind the screen. But, for your information it is very influence of living in SMAN 3 BANDUNG. For the example, aspiration that is very good for school life. I think PK’s function is very dynamic and suitable for this era.

Last not least, this is most unforgettable word.

PK IS NOT ORDINARY ORGANIZATION
BUT PK IS A FAMILY
AND THIS FAMILY VERY HONORS TOGETHERNESS
AND ME, ISMI ROBIYATUL ADAWIYAH, FEEL PROUD FOR BEING THIS FAMILY

What is the best things that you will remember in “PK”?

I think it should be the special one, anyway everything in “PK” are interesting. But, the most unforgettable moment in PK is when I was studying to be good organizer, and this condition is my condition now. And it is also when I was trained for being good organizer. That thing i will remember all of time. When I still lost in darkness and i crawl for standing. For me, there is no thing such as “Stop Studying”. Because you are live for studying. And studying for being good organizer in this organization is unforgettable moment.

And then, what is your opinion about “SpeD?”

“Suara Pelajar Debat”. This organization is not only about debate, debate, and debate. But, there are lots of thing here. From organizer to radio session. Being part of this is very amazing. There are lots of great peoples here. Actually, my reason I join this organization is studying. Because for me studying is break the limit, and this organization is my opportunity for me to study and develop. Anyway, I agree with “SPED motto”

DAS BLUDT UND EISEN POETA NASCITUM ORATOR FIT 3! 3! 3!
(From blood and iron fist, poet is born and orator is created.)

Message for everyone.

Don’t worry to change and develop. And as always I say, you only live once. So, enjoy your life.

Hainanese Chicken Rice (Savoy Chicken)

As I told before, every foods have a unique characteristic. Characteristic is could be everything. Taste, Look, or even a Smell. I like Chinese foods, I often go to Chinese restaurant for feeding my appetite. Chinese foods are quite different from Indonesian cuisines. Chinese foods are likely more savory than the Indonesian cuisines. But, Indonesian has more spices that sometimes aren’t found in it.  One of my favorite Chinese food is Hainanese Chicken Rice.

Hainanese chicken rice is a dish adapted from early Chinese immigrants originally from the Hainan province in southern China. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice most commonly associated with Malaysian, Hainanese and Singaporean cuisines, although it is also popular in Thailand and Vietnam. It is based on a well-known Hainanese dish called Wenchang chicken (文昌雞), due to its adoption by the Hainanese overseas Chinese population in the Nanyang area (present-day Southeast Asia).
Catherine Ling of CNN describes Hainanese chicken rice as one of the "40 Singapore foods we can't live without". It also listed at number 45 on World's 50 most delicious foods complied by CNN Go in 2011. In Indonesia, Chicken rice is available in many Chinese Restaurant. I have eaten it in Imperial Kitchen Restaurant, one of my favorite restaurant in my city.

The taste of Hainanese Chicken Rice is very tasty. I can find happiness every spoon of it. Hainanese Chicken is made of boiled chicken in a pork or chicken bone stock. Due to majority of Muslim in Indonesia, many restaurants make it from chicken bone stock. It serves with Hainan rice which is made of rice and stock from chicken (including other spices). Vegetable and sauce usually is completed the dish.

A lot of effort goes into the preparation of this flavourful dish, with chefs slowly steaming or blanching the chicken until it is fully cooked, before immediately soaking it in cold water. This stops the cooking process and ensures that the meat remains tender, and is also why the meat is usually served at room temperature

The chicken is main star of this dish. Chicken is cut and put on the different plate from rice. It is also served with vegetable and chili sauce. Chili sauce is made of birds-eye chilies, ginger, garlic, and etc. The sauce is also made this dish perfectly delicious.

This is Recipe for making this delicious dish. It is quoted from Adam Liaw Website.

Hainanese Chicken Rice
Serves 4
Preparation: 1 hour Cooking: 50 minutes plus 30 minutes resting

Ingredients
·         1 whole chicken (about 1.5kg), at room temperature
·         5 whole cloves garlic, plus 2 cloves, chopped
·         7 thick slices ginger, unpeeled
·         1 tbsp sesame oil
·         675g jasmine rice
·         1/2 tsp sea salt flakes
·          1 tbsp light soy sauce
·         coriander, sliced cucumber and spring onion, to serve
Chilli Sauce
·         6 red birds-eye chillies
·         2 tbsp grated ginger
·         2 garlic cloves
·         1 tsp caster sugar
·         1/4 tsp sea salt flakes
·         1 tsp lemon juice
Spring onion and ginger oil
·         4 spring onions, thinly sliced
·         2 tbsp grated ginger
·         1/2 tsp sea salt flakes
·         3 tbsp peanut oil
Dressing
·         1 tbsp sesame oil
·         2 tbsp light soy sauce
Step
·      Trim any visible fat from the chicken. Roughly chop the fat and put in a small saucepan. Cook over very low heat for about 1 hour until the liquid fat renders away. Pour off and keep the liquid fat as it pools. (You do not need the crispy pieces of fried fat for this dish, but they are excellent served over cooked noodles.)
·      Meanwhile, put the whole garlic cloves and 5 slices of ginger in the cavity of the chicken and place breast-side down in a large pot. Cover with water and bring to just below a simmer. The water should be steaming well, but not bubbling. Keep the heat at this stage for 20 minutes, then cover the pot and turn off the heat. Leave for 30 minutes, then lift out the chicken, keeping the poaching stock. Brush the chicken skin with sesame oil and wrap with plastic wrap. The chicken should be cooked very lightly, pink inside the bones and with a gelatinous skin.
·     Heat 1 tbsp of the chicken fat in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and remaining 2 slices of ginger and stir-fry until fragrant. Add the rice and toss until well coated and turning opaque. Add 1.25 litres of the reserved chicken stock, the salt and soy sauce. You can also add a few pandan leaves, tied in a knot (if you have them). Cook in a rice cooker or by your preferred method of cooking rice.
·     To make the chilli sauce, combine chillies, ginger, garlic, sugar and salt in a mortar and pound to a paste. Add the lemon juice and 1-2 tablespoons of hot chicken stock and pound again. Set aside.
·     To make the spring onion and ginger oil, add the spring onion, ginger and salt to a heatproof mortar and pound lightly with the pestle. Heat the oil in a small frying pan until smoking and pour onto the mixture. Once the sizzling stops, combine lightly with the pestle and leave to infuse for a few minutes.
·     To make the dressing, mix the sesame oil and soy sauce with 60ml of the chicken stock. If you have any remaining chicken stock after that, you can season it and add a few onion slices. This can be served as a light broth to accompany the meal.
·     Slice the chicken Chinese-style and pour the dressing over it. Scatter with a little coriander and serve with the rice, condiments, broth and garnishes

Circumhorizontal arc

A circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon - an ice-halo formed by plate-shaped ice crystals in high level cirrus clouds.

Other currently accepted names for the phenomenon are circumhorizon arc or lower symmetric 46° plate arc. The misleading term "fire rainbow" is sometimes used to describe these phenomena, although they are neither rainbows, nor related in any way to fire. The name comes from its appearance as a rainbow taking the shape of flames in the sky.

The complete halo is a huge, multi-coloured band running parallel to the horizon with its centre beneath the sun. The distance below the sun is twice as far as the common 22-degree halo. Red is the uppermost colour. Often, when the halo-forming cloud is small or patchy, only fragments of the arc are seen.

How often a circumhorizontal arc is seen, depends on the location and the latitude of the observer. In the United States it is a relatively common halo seen several times each summer in any one place. In contrast, it is rare phenomenon in northern Europe for several reasons.

Formation of the halo requires that the sun be very high in the sky, at an elevation of 58° or greater, and that a cirrus cloud or haze be present and contain plate-shaped ice crystals. The sun's altitude determines the visibility of the halo; it is impossible to see at locations north of 55°N or south of 55°S (although a lunar circumhorizon arc might be visible at other latitudes). At other latitudes the phenomenon is visible,

for a greater or lesser time, around the summer solstice. Slots of visibility for different latitudes and locations may be looked up here. For example, in London, England the sun is only high enough for 140 hours between mid-May and late July. Contrast that with Los Angeles, with the sun higher than 58 degrees for 670 hours between late March and late September.

The halo is formed by sunlight entering horizontally-oriented, flat, hexagon ice crystals through a vertical side face and leaving through the near horizontal bottom face (plate thickness does not affect the formation of the halo). In principle, Parry oriented column crystals may also produce the arc, although this is rare. The 90° inclination between the ray entrance and exit faces produce the well-separated spectral colours.

The arc has a considerable angular extent and thus, rarely is complete. When only fragments of a cirrus cloud are in the appropriate sky and sun position, they may appear to shine with spectral colours.

A circumhorizontal arc may be difficult to distinguish from an infralateral arc when the sun is high in the sky. The former is always parallel to the horizon, whereas the latter curves upward at its ends.
